The ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) released its election manifesto on Sunday to seek a third consecutive term in Tamil Nadu’s April 6 assembly elections by promising free washing machines, offering dual citizenship to Sri Lankan refugees, and pledging free housing to people.


The AIADMK, an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party, said it would urge the Centre to scrap the Citizenship Amendment Act and work to bring education to the state list from the concurrent list of the Constitution.DMDK treasurer and wife of actor Vijayakant, Premalatha, has alleged that Chief Minister Edappadi-led AIADMK forced them to quit the alliance by delaying seat-sharing talks.
Addressing reporters a day after the party signed a poll-pact with AMMK, Premalatha said TTV Dhinakaran will be their chief ministerial candidate and their alliance will emerge victorious in the upcoming election

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MLA Dr. P Saravanan joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chennai on Sunday. The move comes ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections to be held in April.Saravanan who is Thiruparankundram MLA was dropped from the candidates' list by DMK after the constituency was allotted to its ally Communist Party of India (Marxist). Saravanan had won the Thiruparankundram constituency in 2019 bye-elections
