Otters are carnivorous animals belonging to the subfamily Carnivora Mustelidae.
It is a general term for 13 species of 4 genera that inhabit the entire world except Antarctica, Australia, and New Zealand (sea otters are also members of otters).
It mainly inhabits watersides such as rivers, lakes and coasts, but in some areas it may inhabit places close to human life such as paddy fields.
