ABOUT DR. C. VELAN
Dr. C. Velan, is the City Head of CapitaLand, one of Asia’s largest diversified real estate groups. Headquartered and listed in Singapore, it owns and manages a global portfolio worth S$134.7 billion as at 30 June 2020. He heads the Tamil Nadu Operations and is based out of the Capital City Chennai.
Prior to this, he was the Chief Executive Officer of TRIL INFOPARK LIMITED ( a joint venture of Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited (TRIL), Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO)). Dr.C Velan was instrumental in implementing and developing The Ramanujan IT City (named after the Indian Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan), as an information technology (IT) Special Economic Zone (SEZ) situated at OMR in Chennai, India with 4.7 million sqft operational space.
He holds a Doctorate in Civil Engineering specializing in Environment from Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute and a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management and Personnel Administration from the University of Madras.
