RM10,000 fine in default of 12 years’ jail on road bully upheld

The Court of Appeal has upheld a RM10,000 fine imposed by the Shah Alam High Court on a road bully known as "Abang Botak" after the prosecution withdrew its appeal over the sentence.

The prosecution had appealed against the RM10,000 fine meted out by the High Court against Danial Abdullah Tan, 33, who was initially sentenced by the Petaling Jaya Magistrate's Court to 12 years' jail for smashing a car windscreen with his crash helmet, causing losses of about RM600 to the car driver in Seri Kembangan in May 2019.
