To thank frontline healthcare workers for their sacrifices this year, children and senior citizens have been sending them specially-made care packages.
Our Kim Yeon-seung has the story.
The tireless work of healthcare workers has helped many people get through 2020.
And some people are ending the year by showing their gratitude to the nation's doctors and nurses.
"When I saw the news of our healthcare workers, I saw that they were doing the best they can... so I came up with an idea to send them care packages made by our senior citizen workers.
The center sent a total of 650 care packages to Incheon Medical center and 12 other healthcare centers in Incheon city.
The packages were put together with care and consideration and were full to the brim with products made by senior workers, including natural soaps, cookies, and coffee.
"In the care package, there are a lot of cookies and food. I heard that the medical team really enjoyed those. And they are all handmade by grandmothers and grandfathers so there aren't any artificial sweeteners added."
These children are a few of the 800 students who participated in the 'Thank You Again for Today' campaign run by Daegu Association of Social Welfare Centers.
They sent letters, hand mirrors, masks, and badges all made and decorated by young students in the Daegu Dong-gu area.
"I think the medical workers will really miss their families when they can't be together because of COVID-19. I miss my family even when I'm away for just three or four days."
"I saw in a documentary that the medical workers have a tough time dealing with the sweat and heat under the protective suits. But despite all that difficulty, they still take care of patients so I wrote my thank you letter thinking that I was writing to our nation's heroes."
From children to senior citizens, people across the nation are sending their thanks to the frontline healthcare workers.
