Change is in the hair: former Thai royalist changes haircut from king’s portrait to protest salute

Growing up in Thailand where the monarchy is promoted everywhere from the school classrooms to television programmes, Mitree Chitinunda had been a devoted royalist for decades. In 2019, he even had a portrait of the king shaved into his hair. But a year later amid protests demanding a new government and reform of the monarchy, Mitree changed his mind, and eventually his hairstyle.
