The South Korean government will impose tougher anti-pollution measures starting tomorrow, to reduce fine dust levels for the next four months.
Under the new measures, grade five emission vehicles, mostly old diesel cars, will be barred from the Seoul Metropolitan Area on weekdays between 6 AM and 9 PM.
The government will also suspend activity at two coal plants as well as cap operations at other fossil fuel plants at 80-percent.
The guidelines also include strengthened monitoring of construction sites and incineration plants.
Seoul has also vowed to strengthen cooperation with Beijing to reduce regional fine dust pollution.
