Biden rules out national shutdown, opts for mandatory face masks

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden has ruled out the option of a "national lockdown" to curb the spread of COVID-19, instead pushing ahead with making face masks mandatory in all states.
This is part of Biden's coronavirus response plan, which he announced on Thursday after talking with 10 governors.
Other measures include access to affordable healthcare and unemployment benefits,...and easier access to vaccines and testing.
According to CNN, Biden's team have begun holding staff level meetings with resistant Republican governors.
They are also considering the use of economic incentives to get states to implement the measures.
