COVID-19 vaccinations in Europe could begin as soon as next month or early next year,... according to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who took part in a video summit on the vaccine situation.
Speaking to the German news agency DPA after the summit Thursday, she said the recent news looks positive.
She was apparently referring to the vaccines made by the American company Pfizer together with the German firm BioNtech and the one by Moderna which are nearly 95 percent effective.
The CEO of BioNTech, Ugur Sahin, also told AFP... that the vaccines could be distributed in the U.S. and the EU by the end of this year.
