The European Medicines Agency says that its evaluation of COVID-19 vaccines had not been disrupted by recent cyberattacks.
Emer Cooke, the Executive Director of the agency, reassured EU lawmakers on Thursday that they were "fully functional" and stressed that the latest attacks would not affect the timeline for vaccine deliveries.
In an official statement, the EU drug regulator on Wednesday informed of the attack but gave no details of the event, except that a full investigation was underway.
Earlier, U.S. drugmaker Pfizer and BioNTech said that documents related to their vaccine had been "unlawfully accessed" during a cyberattack on the EMA.
