Cyclone Vayu Changes Course Overnight, Moves Away From Gujarat Coast

Cyclone Vayu has changed its course overnight and is now moving away from the Gujarat coast. Manorama Mohanty, scientist at India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ahmedabad informed that Cyclone Vayu won't hit Gujarat. It will pass nearby from Veraval, Porbandar, Dwarka and its effect will be seen on the coastal regions as there will be heavy wind speed and heavy rain as well. According to the IMD, very Severe Cyclonic Storm Vayu over EC Arabian Sea moved NNW-wards in last 6 hours. It's 130 km Southwest of Veraval and 180 km South of Porbandar. However, the western coast continues to be on high alert as strong winds and rough seas are expected for the next 24 to 48 hours.
