Coronavirus Outbreak: Mumbais Film City Stops Shooting, Impact On The Entertainment Industry

Mumbai Film City was deserted on March 17 after municipal commissioner ordered to cease all indoor & outdoor shoots. On March 15, IMPPA decided to stop all entertainment shoots from March 19-31. Shoots are being stalled to avoid the spread of the deadly coronavirus. Subhash Borker, Joint Managing Director, Film City, “In accordance with the orders issued by Mumbai Municipal Commissioner, we have stopped all indoor and outdoor shootings at Film City.” Shutdown due to COVID-19 has come as an unexpected blow to the entertainment industry. All sectors including exhibition trade, studios, television, OTT and actors will suffer.
