Local tourism industry takes massive hit from coronavirus outbreak

The current coronavirus global outbreak out of China has led to a sharp decline in the number of tourists.
Local tourism operators revealed that with the coronavirus outbreak, over five thousand tourist groups have cancelled their trips to Malaysia since January.
The Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (Motac) said they were looking to target new markets so that they can hit the projected 30 million tourists for Visit Malaysia 2020 after a sharp decline in tourists from China.
