Eid 2020: Moon Sighting In Saudi Arabia And India; Know The Date, Significance And Celebration Of Eid al-Fitr In Islam

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan or Ramzan. Muslims observe fast from dawn to dusk during Ramadan. Eid is celebrated depending on the sighting of the moon. The moon is sighted either on the 29th roza (fast) or on the 30th roza. This year, the Shawwal moon was not seen in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on May 22. Therefore, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia on May 24. In India, people are observing 29th fast of Ramzan or Ramadan on May 23, 2020 and they will look for the crescent moon in the evening. If the moon is sighted, Eid or Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, May 24. If the moon does not appear, Muslims will celebrate Eid festival on Monday, May 25.
