Eid 2023 Moon Sighting In India: Muslims To Look For Shawwal Crescent On April 21 To Celebrate Eid ul-Fitr

  • last year
On April 21, Muslims in India, Bangladesh, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia mark their 29th fast of Ramadan. Muslims will look for the crescent moon on April 21 evening to celebrate ‘Chand Raat’. If the moon is sighted, then Eid will be observed on April 22. In case the moon is not sighted then Muslims will observe one more day of fasting. An Islamic month either completes 29 days or 30 days, depending on the moon sighting.
