K리그1, 2 우승 확정...故 김남춘 추모

Time now for 'This Week in Sports' and for that we have our Sports editor Paul Neat joining us in the studio. Paul, we begin with some tragic news.
Yes, we do.
FC Seoul defender Kim Nam-chun was found dead on Friday. Songpa-gu District police confirmed that his body had been found in the parking garage of an apartment building that morning.
Teammates past and present continue to pay tribute to him on social media. Fans paid their respects at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Saturday before the final league game of the season. His funeral was held this morning in Ganghwa County, Incheon where he grew up. He was 31.
Deepest condolences to his family and friends. In difficult circumstances, Saturday's games went ahead.
Yes the games went ahead...FC Seoul were at home to Incheon United.
Incheon knew that a win would guarantee them a place in K League 1 for next season...regardless of what would happen between Seongnam and Busan IPark.
Incheon won 1-0, Costa Rican attacking midfielder Elias Aguilar scored the game’s only goal...squeezing the ball in at the near post from an acute angle...with 32 minutes on the clock. Incheon are safe but with a 2-1 defeat to Seongnam, Busan IPark have been relegated to K League 2.
Meanwhile, the championships in both K League divisions were clinched over the weekend.
Yes, that’s right. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors sealed a record fourth title in a row and eighth overall.
Jeonbuk needed just a point at home to Daegu FC...but on Sunday afternoon sealed the title with a 2-0 win....with Young Player of the Year nominee Cho Gyu-seong scoring both goals. It was also the last game in K League for Lee Dong-gook who, as captain, lifted the trophy at Jeonju World Cup Stadium.
Ulsan finish second but Brazilian striker Junior Negrao ends the season as top scorer with 26 goals in 27 appearances.
In K League 2, Jeju United earned promotion back to the top tier on Sunday thanks to a 3-2 win over Seoul E-Land.
Jeju suffered relegation last year but make an immediate return to K League 1.
Switching to baseball now. The regular season was concluded on Saturday so we now know how the postseason might look.
Yes, we now know which teams will be competing in the Wild Card series ahead of the postseason.
But, the first game was postponed on Sunday due to rain.
And so the LG Twins and the Kiwoom Heroes are in action right now at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul. As the number four seed, the Twins only need a tie or a win in the first meeting to advance. The Heroes, the number five seed, must win two straight games to move on to the next stage.
If the Twins win, the first round of the postseason will begin as scheduled on Wednesday. But, if the Heroes win and force another Wild Card game, then the start of every remaining series will be pushed back by one day...
