With one week to go until the Presidential Election, the U.S. Senate has confirmed Amy Coney Barrett as Donald Trump's pick for Supreme Court Justice.
Appeals court judge, Barrett, was voted in 52 to 48 percent by the Republican-led Senate.
President Trump touted the appointment with Barrett at his side on the White House lawn.
Barrett herself declared the post would be "independent from political branches" as well as from her "own preferences".
The move has created a six-to-three conservative majority at the U.S. top court.
And all eyes are on whether the Supreme Court's further shift to the right could pave the way for conservative rulings on 'Obamacare', abortion, gun control and voting rights among other issues.
