문 대통령, 28일 국회 시정연설…'위기에 강한 나라' 강조

President Moon Jae-in will be giving a policy speech at the National Assembly on Wednesday morning on the budget for 2021.
The top office says Moon will highlight the need for thorough virus prevention measures and efforts to prop up the economy to ensure Korea can withstand crises going forward.
Next year's proposed budget calls for 5-hundred-55 trillion won of spending,... or just under 5-hundred billion U.S. dollars an on-year increase of 8-point-5 percent.
The president is also expected to explain the government's New Deal initiative,... as well as touch upon his vision for peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Deliberations will soon start for the budget proposal,... ahead of the legal deadline to pass the bill on December 2nd.
Rival parties are likely to clash over the size of the budget and its effect on the country's fiscal soundness... given that the government has already used four extra budgets this year.
