국내 코로나19 신규 확진 119명...유럽선 스페인, 이탈리아 다시 봉쇄

Despite comparatively fewer tests conducted over the weekend, South Korea on Monday reported one-hundred-19 new COVID-19 cases the first time since last week there have been more than one-hundred.
Europe, meanwhile, continues to see new record-highs in daily infections, with the total topping nine-million.
Some countries are back to imposing curfews as an attempt to stem the rapid spread.
Choi Jeong-yoon has the details.
South Korea reported one hundred-nineteen new COVID-19 cases on Monday,... back into triple digits for the first time in three days.
Among them, 94 were transmitted locally,...bringing the total to 25-thousand-nine-hundred-55.
Health authorities highlighted three major factors that could lead to an exponential uptick in cases-cluster infections at high-risk facilities, an increasing number of gatherings, and the situation worsening in Europe.
South Korea has recently seen a sudden increase in cases at rehabilitation hospitals and nursing homes...mostly concentrated in the greater capital region.
In the past seven days, cluster infections at such facilities amounted to over two-hundred-20,...accounting for some 30 percent of total cases.
Epidemiological results showed some facilities were careless with quarantine measures and negligent to patients with COVID-19 symptoms. The fact that nursing homes and hospitals have high concentrations of patients on a single ward...and the close distance between beds were also pointed out."
Imported cases has accounted for 20 percent of the total case load over the past week. The resurgence in Europe in particular is putting health authorities on alert as a record of over two-hundred-21-thousand cases were reported in 24 hours.
The Spanish Cabinet on Sunday approved a new national state of alarm restricting mobility between 11 PM to 6 AM...days after it became the first European Union state to pass the one-million-case mark.
"We are living in an extreme situation; it is in fact the most serious health emergency experienced by Spain since the approval of our constitution (1978) and also in the last half century."
Areas within the country can restrict travel to and from other regions,... except if it is essential such as going to work or seeing a doctor.
The new policy is to last for 15 days but could be extended until May next year, once the government wins majority support from Spain's Congress.
