The South Korean government is going to be giving out coupons to more than 10 million people in its latest bid to boost the local economy in the pandemic.
The finance ministry said Sunday that the coupons will be distributed starting in late October, offering discounts in eight key sectors including tourism, sports, entertainment, food and hospitality.
The coupon package comes ahead of a retail event known as the 'Korea Sale Festa,' which begins on November first.
The government says it will hold more events to promote the consumption of cultural and tourism products and of food products.
