Akali Dal quits NDA over farm bills

A week after it walked out of the Narendra Modi government, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Saturday decided to quit the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) over the three farm bills that it says are not in the interest of farmers. The Akali Dal was the oldest ally of the BJP and the two parties have shared power in Punjab and at the Centre for several terms.
