These colorful jewelry pieces are actually made out of upcycled plastic. A Russian souvenir maker has adapted her business to make accessories from plastic waste. The designer says her work is dedicated to bringing awareness to environmental issues with eco-friendly, but aesthetically pleasing goods. Her original business was making souvenirs for museums. She got the idea to start this new project when a corporate client asked her to make promotional items from plastic waste. She's sold about two-thousand jewelry pieces since she started in June, and five percent of sales have gone to a charity project that promotes recycling.
