Almost one and a half million students applying for universities in Uzbekistan are sitting their entrance exams outside this year, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
With safety the number one priority, masks and gloves are mandatory throughout the test.
"The exams are being conducted in the open-air and each group consists of 30 applicants. We are strictly monitoring sanitary measures, applicants and supervisors are wearing face masks and gloves."
"I think that exams in the open-air are better than in closed areas because our body cannot function well in overcrowded areas, in the open-air, it is much better."
Thousands of students will sit the tests each day until September 14th, ahead of the new term beginning in October.
