Employees in South Korea will now be able to use more days off work to take care of their families in times of disaster.
In parliament on Monday, lawmakers passed a bill that... when disaster strikes, like the pandemic,... doubles the amount of unpaid leave for family care from ten days to twenty.
Single parents will be given five extra days for a total of 25 days off.
If employees are disadvantaged by their employers for using their days, then the employer will be fined up to about 25-thousand U.S. dollars... or face up to three years in prison.
