At South Korea's National Assembly, lawmakers kick off their first plenary session of September in the coming hours.
During the session, set for 10 AM, Korea time, rival parties have agreed to pass a revised bill aimed at extending the paid family care leave for parents raising young children.
Under the current law, employees are allowed 10 days paid leave a year.
But as many nurseries and kindergartens remain closed, people are calling for an extension.
The revised bill would likely extend the period to nearly a month in times of disaster, however the details have yet to be confirmed.
The newly-elected chief of the ruling Democratic Party Lee Nak-yon is set to deliver his policy speech as well.
He's expected to call for the swift implementation of the nation's fourth supplementary anti-COVID-19 budget.
