Charity clothing stores in Western Australia have seen an unexpected sales boost following the COVID-19 lockdown.
These so-called "op shops", short for "opportunity shops", say they've seen their sales spike after they reopened... amid enthusiasm among people to get out and shop... and more people seeking a budget-friendly option while supporting a good cause.
They also say they've seen clothing donations rise compared to pre-pandemic levels... thanks to people clearing out their closets, while being stuck at home.
The charity shops are hopeful the sales jump would lead to increased financial aid for vulnerable sectors of society.
And that does it for today's edition of 'The World Now'. I'll be back tomorrow with more updates from around the world. Good bye for now.
