One of Mexico's most violent criminals who used to be a police officer is taken to a police car in handcuffs car with her girlfriend after they were captured. According to national newspaper Excelsior, 41-year-old Guadalupe Villareal alias 'La Teniente' (The Lieutenant) is considered an important member of the Northeast Cartel, one of the most violent criminal organisations in Mexico. According to a statement from Mexican authorities, reported by Excelsior, the capture of ‘La Teniente’ was carried out early on Tuesday morning in the Sandia neighbourhood of the city of Nuevo Laredo in Mexico's northeastern state of Tamaulipas, along with her romantic partner identified only as Edna “N”. The video footage shows the two handcuffed and masked women being led by armed officers into the back of a police vehicle.
