This is the moment scientists on a Royal Navy research ship use drones to assess the size of the penguin population in the South Sandwich Islands.

The video was shared on YouTube by ‘Navy Lookout’ on 28th December with the message: “Rare live footage and imagery captured by HMS Protector and scientists using drones on Saunders, South Thule and Cook islands is being used to make accurate assessments of the penguin population sizes.”
