Hyundai, Kia sales of eco-friendly vehicles up 36% in H1 2020

The pandemic has decimated some parts of the economy, but there's a bright spot in the auto industry.
Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors, in the first half of this year, have seen their sales of eco-friendly cars jump by 36 percent from the same period a year earlier.
Those include hybrids, plug-in hybrids, electric cars and hydrogen fuel cell cars.
Hyundai sold just under 38-thousand of them, and Kia around 30-thousand.
Most of the growth was driven by hybrids, whose sales were up 50 percent with the release of new models.
The top-selling model was the Hyundai Grandeur hybrid and the biggest growth was in the Sonata hybrid.
