WHO "지난달 코로나19 환자가 전체 누적확진자의 60%"

The World Health Organization says 60 percent of the global COVID-19 infections have been reported in the last month alone,... raising concerns the virus is spreading faster.
The U.S. saw its daily cases reach a new record of more than 52-thousand cases.
Meanwhile, a COVID-19 vaccine made by a U.S. pharmaceutical giant and German biotech firm shows potential in early human trials.

The World Health Organization says 60 percent of the total COVID-19 cases worldwide have been reported in the last month alone.
The WHO's Director-General on Wednesday expressed worries about countries easing their lockdowns.
"We are concerned that some countries have not used all the tools at their disposal and have taken a fragmented approach. These countries face a long, hard road ahead."
But he remained optimistic, saying it's not late to turn things around.
"But one of the lessons of the pandemic is that no matter what situation a country is in, it can be turned around. It’s never too late."
The WHO says the number of new cases has been exceeding 160-thousand a day for the past week.
The U.S. has seen the largest uptick in daily COVID-19 cases, confirming more than 52-thousand cases on Wednesday.
The head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Doctor Anthony Fauci, warned Tuesday that new infections could reach 100-thousand a day if the current surge is not contained.
But there's hope for a turnaround, U.S. pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, and German biotech firm BioNTech say their COVID-19 vaccine shows potential in early human trials.
The drug is one of 17 being tested on humans in a global race to find a vaccine for the virus.
A trial of 45 people showed that the drugs caused an immune response in healthy patients.
But the results are yet to be peer-reviewed or published in a journal,... and came with some side effects including fever at higher doses.
