Korea Tourism Association picks 100 safe travel locations

With travelling much restricted due to the COVID-19 outbreak,... now, the most important standard in choosing where to travel is safety.
Taking that into account, Korea's national tourism association has listed 100 places... that people can visit without concerns.

"The Korea Tourism Association's new list of 100 local tourism spots comes in response to the COVID-19 triggered changes in the domestic tourism industry. Places like this, Mongchontoseong Earthen Fortification in Seoul, were selected as they guarantee your personal safety, while you can relax and check out the sights."
The list also contains family-friendly sites that the association felt deserved more recognition.
It includes parks such as Central Park in Incheon's Songdo district and historical sites such as Susunsa Temple in Gyeongsangnam-do Province.
One visitor shared her thoughts about her visit.
"COVID-19 limits where we can go… our semester ended, so we were looking for a place to visit, and we heard this park was very photogenic… so we came here. It also seems relatively safe as it's outdoors."
The list also named some indoor facilities that are following virus prevention guidelines such as limiting the number of visitors.
"Though we are currently closed due to COVID-19, when we re-open, we will go back to online reservations only, which controls the number of visitors. We also disinfect the facility every session to guarantee everyone's safety."
When choosing the spots, the organization also studied data from mid-January to the end of May and says there are six notable points.
They said people were looking for a reachable place with family-friendly activities while out in the nature.
Popular sites regained visitors as May came around and COVID-19 was largely controlled.
But the industry is yet to fully recover.
The association added that it will promote safe traveling from July 1st to July 19th, which is the association's designated special summer traveling period.
