Chinese police rescued a little wild deer trapped in a ditch filled with water in northern China.

In the video filmed in Shaanxi province, a little deer struggled and couldn’t get out of the ditch. Police rushed to the scene and immediately jumped down the ditch. They wrapped the deer with ropes and quickly pulled the deer out. The animal suffered minor injuries to its right hoof.

Then the local Wildlife Rescue Department came and bandaged the injured part of the deer. It’ll be temporarily cared for by a professional wildlife rescue team and returned back to its natural habitat when it fully recovers.

It’s reported that the wild deer fell into the ditch when it was shocked by cars on road. Deer are categorised as a key protected animal in Shaanxi Province.

The video was filmed on June 21 and provided by local media.
