A drone was used to rescue two digger drivers who got trapped in a flooded river after a rainstorm in southern China.

The heroic video, filmed in the city of Zhangjiajie in Hunan Province on May 14, shows a drone being used to deliver life-jackets to the drivers trapped in the middle of a river.

Firefighters then threw a rope to the trapped drivers and were able to pull the pair back to shore.

According to reports, the two drivers walked into the middle of the river to try to drive the digger back onto dry land, but were caught out when the water level suddenly rose up due to rainfall, leaving them trapped there.

Fortunately, both men were rescued successfully.
