South Korea reported 49 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, …amid continued cluster infections in Seoul and its surrounding areas.
Of them, 46 were community transmissions, …with 19 in Seoul, 12 in Gyeonggi-do Province …and seventeen in Incheon.
Three of the new cases were imported.
The total number of cases is eleven-thousand-five-hundred-90.
There was one new death, …bringing the total death toll to two-hundred-73.
Nearly 28-thousand people are currently being tested.
The government has urged the public to ensure a safe environment as more students return to school today.
The prime minister also pointed out that of the 70 student infections in May, …none were transmitted within schools.
