'대기업과 상생' 코로나19 방역 업체들 나눔 줄이어

The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted many South Korean companies specializing in manufacturing quarantine-related products to extend a helping hand to society.
They are businesses that have overcome difficulties thanks to the help of conglomerates,... and have now decided to give back themselves.
Kim Hyo-sun reports.
This face mask manufacturer, Hwajin Industry, faced difficulties enhancing its manufacturing process.
But with the help of veteran engineers from Samsung Electronics,... it increased its daily production from an average of 40-thousand masks to 1-hundred thousand.
Recently, Hwajin donated over 10-thousand masks and began sharing its know-how with other mask producers.
"We believe it is important to share as much as we can and cooperate with other businesses to overcome such a crisis."
Otoswing,... specializing in manufacturing eye protective equipment such as goggles, also donated thousands of its products to first responders who are fighting against the virus on the front lines.
It also received help from Samsung Electronics to enhance its production efficiency.
"The Ministry of Health and Welfare asked us to manufacture goggles urgently, but the request was beyond our capacity at first."
A company that produces hand sanitizers also donated over 10-thousand products.
Samsung Electronics, which signed a 'win-win cooperation agreement' with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups as well as Korea Federation of SMEs,... are helping out with SMEs that specialize in quarantine-related products as they face a rapid increase in demand amid the pandemic.
"Such companies that received help and support were thankful, prompting them to make donations. The entire process is very meaningful."
Such a virtuous circle continues to spread throughout communities as more and more companies are giving back as a sign of goodwill after they themselves received aq helping hand from larger firms.
