A policeman stopped a driverless car after it threw the motorist out onto a road in Shanghai on April 20.

The CCTV video, provided by local media, shows a black car knocking over a scooter and then suddenly starting to reverse on a road.

The driver was thrown out of the car and the driverless vehicle was still moving backwards.

A police officer went to chase the car immediately and got into the vehicle to stop it within seconds.

According to reports, the driver pulled the handle to reverse the car accidentally when she managed to brake after knocking over the scooter.

Fortunately, no one was injured.
