IMF lowers global and S. Korea's economic outlook due to COVID-19 pandemic

The IMF downgraded the April 2020 World Economic Outlook due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It believes the global economy will contract by three percent in 2020,... down from January's forecast of 3-point-3 percent.
The organization slashed South Korea's outlook to minus 1-point- 2 percent after an initial prediction of 2-percent growth last October.
The drop is the smallest among OCED members.
The IMF also predicts a so-called "V-shape recovery" for Seoul,... forecasting 3-point-4 economic growth for the country next year.
