President Moon Jae-in has called on the government to swiftly submit its latest 5-point-8 billion dollar extra budget bill to the National Assembly... to provide financial aid to the country's households.
In a meeting with Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun on Monday,... the president stressed the need for the government to publicize the qualifications for the aid so as not to cause confusion.
The government announced last week it will be giving financial aid to households in the lowest 70 percent income bracket.
Moon also highlighted the need for strict social distancing amid a continued rise in imported COVID-19 cases... saying that the country is at a critical point where the situation could either stabilize or the virus could spread further.
He also called on the government to look for ways to swiftly get financial support to small businesses and the self-employed... amid a rise in demand.
