University of Cape Town students living on campus residence were instructed to go home after a second person at the university tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

South Africa currently has over 150 confirmed cases and is currently under a state of national disaster, which limits large gatherings amongst others.

Footage from Thursday (March 19) shows an empty campus and buses arrive to collect departing students.
