Meet Luxianren, a self-styled “village supermodel” who makes runway-worthy fashion pieces out of everyday household objects.

He designs and models the pieces himself to over three million followers on Chinese TikTok. He’s perfected the Tyra Banks “smize” and struts a walk that’s enough to give any Victoria’s Secret model a run for her money.

We visited him in his hometown in rural Guangxi to find out how it all began.
