Hong Kong immigration denies entry to Human Rights Watch executive director

The executive director of Human Rights Watch was denied entry to Hong Kong at the city’s airport on January 12, 2020. Kenneth Roth had been scheduled to hold a press conference in the city on January 15 to release the New York-based organisation’s “World Report 2020”. Human Rights Watch says this year’s annual report will focus on the Chinese government’s “assault” on the international human rights system. The report will instead be launched in New York on January 14.
