Shepherd's pie is a meat pie with a topping of mashed potato. Shepherd's pie is perfect winter recipe and best main course for this Christmas. Shepherd's pie also known as cottage pie is originated in united kingdom.

Ingredients -
(Serves 2)
For mashed Potato
- 350 gm Potatoes (boiled)
- 3 tbsp Butter
- Salt
- Black Pepper Powder

For Paste
- 1 stick Celery
- 1/2 Carrot (chopped)
- 1 Onion (chopped)

- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1/2 tbsp Butter
- 2 tbsp Garlic (Minced)
- Paste
- Salt
- Black Pepper Powder
- 250 gm Meat (minced)
- 3 tsp Worcester Sauce
- Nutmeg (grated)
- Black pepper Powder
- 1/2 cup Vegetable Stock
- 1 tsp Worcester Sauce
- Oregano leaves

Method -
For Mashed Potatoes
1. Take boiled potatoes in mixing bowl and mash them.
2. Add butter, salt and black pepper powder and mix it well and mashed it again.

For Paste:
1. Grind celery, finely chopped carrot, onion and make a fine paste

For Minced meat:
1. Heat a pan, add oil and butter to it.
2. Add minced garlic and swirl it around the pan for bit.
3. After that add already made paste and swirl that around.
4. Sprinkle some salt, black pepper powder and saute it.
5. Now put the minced chicken into pan, add Worcester sauce, grated nutmeg and black pepper powder, mix it well.
6. Pour some vegetable stock in pan, increase the flame and swirl it till stock dries out.
7. After the stock is dried down, add Worcester sauce again and oregano.
8. Turn off the flame, layer minced meat in baking pan and layer of mashed on it evenly.
9. Take a fork and make criss-cross pattern on the layered potatoes.
10. Preheat the oven at 200 degree Celsius, and now bake the shepherd's pie in oven for 15 minutes and in the last 10 minutes turn the heat to broiler.
Now your Shepherd's Pie is ready to serve!
