The Flu Has Already Killed Over
2,000 People in the US This Year.
According to the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),
the casualty count is up to at least 2,400 people.
The deaths reportedly occurred
between October 1 and November 30.
During this time, the virus
sent over 29,000 people
to the hospital.
The CDC adds that the flu is
widespread in 16 states.
To protect yourself, the
best option is a flu shot.
Even if you do get influenza [after being vaccinated], it will often lessen the symptoms, reduce your chances of complications, and decrease the time that you are sick and spreading the virus to your family members, Stanford Health Care physician Eric A. Weiss,

You should also wash your hands often,
especially after shaking hands with other people.
Not touching your face, nose or eyes
too much will reduce the risk as well.
If you know someone that is sick, keep your distance for a few days.
When one first gets the flu,
