Indian officials build 50-foot trolley bridge to help people vote in flooded village

Officials in a flooded village in west India built a jury-rigged bridge using tractors to help people reach a voting station, in an amazing display of ingenuity.
The village of Kambleshwar near Baramati, Maharashtra was expecting to vote on state legislature elections on October 21, but when officials arrived they found the designated voting building had been flooded.
Thinking quickly, they brought in six tractors and joined their trolleys together to create a 50-feet long bridge and let voters reach the polling centre, which normally served as the village school.
Election Commission of India spokesperson Sheyphali Sharan said: “Despite heavy rains, voters were facilitated by innovative and available means at polling stations 351 and 352 in Kambleshwar village, Maharashtra.”
