Recent government data shows there has been an increase in the number of food imports that have been tainted with radioactive substances.
According to a recent report by the ministry for food and drug safety, more than 11-hundred contaminated food items have been detected since 2011, with numbers increasing every year.
Those that most frequently tested positive for radiation were mushrooms from China and Russia, American blueberries and Turkish hazelnuts.
They took up more than half of the radioactive imported foods excluding products from Japan.
