Powerful 6.4-magnitude earthquake rocks the Philippines

A 6-point-4 magnitude earthquake struck a southern island in the Philippines.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the powerful quake occurred sixty-nine kilometers north, northwest of General Santos on Mindanao island on Wednesday.
It was detected at around 7:37 PM local time,... so reports of casualties and damages have not yet been confirmed.
Authorities did not issue a tsunami alert after the tremor.
The Philippines is located within the Pacific "Ring of Fire," where there is intense seismic activity stretching from Japan through Southeast Asia and across the Americas.
