Typhoon Mitag to hit Korea's southern regions

Good afternoon. The 18th typhoon of the season, Mitag, continues to travel in a northwest direction. It will hit Mokpo in Jeollanam-do province on Thursday morning and pass through the southern provinces before departing into the East Sea.
Typhoon Mitag will bring heavy showers and strong gusts to Jeju and southern parts of the country, Jeju and southern coastal regions could see downpours into Thursday while wind speeds of up to 35 to 45 meters per second in west and south coasts, and Jeju.
As the typhoon approaches, rain will spread nationwide starting Wednesday, Gangwon-do Province will see rain at the end of the week.
Temperature-wise, it's the first day of a new month but it should feel nothing like October today for upper regions but southern parts of the country will see showers along with cooler temperatures.
