"Local Legends" features arnis grandmaster Rodel Dagooc. Grandmaster Dagooc talks about the practicality and effectiveness of arnis and looks back on learning the martial art when he came to Manila to find work. He then explains how he began his career as a martial arts teacher and admits that his profession was not very profitable back in the 1960s and 1970s. After arnis gained more attention in the 1980s, Dagooc began receiving invitations to conduct arnis seminars abroad. He then used the money to start his own arnis cane manufacturing business. He demonstrates how to make grade A arnis canes and talks about the legacy he hopes to leave behind.
