Court acquits 3 former TEPCO executives of criminal charges over Fukushima disaster

Three former executives of TEPCO,... the company that runs the Fukushima nuclear power facility,... have been found NOT guilty of charges related to the 2011 nuclear disaster.
A court in Tokyo on Thursday ruled that the authorities were aware of the possibility of a tsunami hitting the region,... but the forecast was too uncertain to take action.
This was the first time a Japanese court ruled on the question of whether individuals should face criminal punishment over the disaster.
Environmental group Greenpeace slammed the court's decision.
In 2015, a judicial review panel consisting of ordinary citizens judged that the executives should face trial.
