Trump Revokes CA Waiver for
Higher Auto Emissions Standards.
President Donald Trump
announced the move in
a series of tweets. .
The Trump Administration is revoking California's Federal Waiver on emissions in order to produce far less expensive cars for the consumer, while at the same time making the cars substantially SAFER, President Donald Trump, via Twitter.
Furthermore, Trump tweeted that
"Many more cars will be produced under
the new and uniform standard, meaning
significantly more JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!".
Under the Clean Air Act, California
created standards for auto emissions
that exceeded federal standards.
Auto makers eventually lined up
production with California's standards,
after more than a dozen other
states adopted them as well.
Saying that Trump was acting
on a "political vendetta," CA
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D.) called
out the Trump administration.

Auto industry groups
responded, saying that they
"support one national program.".
Former Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) officials
slammed the move.
